A little introduction

My name is Jess Humphrey and I live in Norfolk, England. I started making jewellery in 2009, after health problems meant I was unable to work. I couldn't just sit around doing nothing, and so an obsession was born! I've always loved jewellery, but I found it frustrating that so much of it is mass produced and poorly made, so began making all my own. This soon spread into making pieces for friends and family, and now I am branching out and selling my work online. I find creating pieces of jewellery almost theraputic, and I love looking at a finished product and thinking 'I made that, and no-one else in the world has one the same'. My favourite materials are lampwork glass beads, all of which I buy from very talented UK glass artists, semi-precious gemstones, Swarovski crystals, sterling silver and hand dyed silk ribbons. I also enjoy working with ceramic beads, freshwater pearls and Czech glass.

For a more detailed description of the main materials I use please do check out the 'Materials' page.

I am currently exploring the silversmithing side of jewellery making, and am greatly enjoying it. I love teaming lampwork with silver, and hope to make more pieces of this nature in the near future-so watch this space!
